I didn’t have many expectations going into this book. I had never read a book by this author so I did not know what to expect. I was blown away! This book has amazing depth. The story is written in a way where you get 3 characters point of view- Liz, Rawson and Bentley. This creates a well rounded story and helps the reader see the whole picture and not just one person’s version. I loved that the characters had flaws. It may made them seem so real. Liz’s mother was always tearing her down so she was unable to see what a beautiful person inside and out that she was. Rawson was living with the guilt of his brother’s disability and his other brother’s death. He is also trying to help his friend Damon whose life has spiraled downward since the two were in an accident. He has to help his friend in secret because his family blames the accident on Damon. Bentley was a normal 8 year old before the accident but now he has a bent spine and a damaged leg. He struggles with fitting in at school and being bullied. This story is a beautiful love story about hope and redemption.
